A New Way to Kill Braincells

As if drugs, alcohol and my personal favourite - bashing your head against a wall - werent enough to kill your intelligence; abc has released what i can only describe as the tv show about gaming that most resembles animal feaces.

All fear it... "Good Game" - digitally mutilate yourself by clicking here and watching

I will recollect the conversation i was having on MSN after being referenced the show and then watching the first few mins (following which i closed and uninstalled firefox, then reinstalled it just to be sure). Please not that i do not hold it against sockpuppet for telling me about it, fair enough as fragfest was mentioned - anyway here is my reaction

Dean says: zomg its so lame
Dean says: i want to kill myself
Sockpuppet says: lol
Dean says: OMG
Dean says: its SO BAD
Dean says: F4GZ
Dean says: FFS, this is as bad as pcuser
Sockpuppet says: lol
Sockpuppet says: its not that bad
Dean says: no it really is
Dean says: its terrible
Dean says: if you cant put in a hdd
Dean says: dont open the case
Dean says: ffs
Dean says: take it to the shop
Dean says: also
Dean says: get a floppy
Dean says: youll be thankfull when you can install windows onto your sata drive and flash your bios

*closes tab etc*

I could also go on about learning to speak english properly, specifically avoiding repetition of the same subject prefix in the same sentence but i fear that it may be beyond the capacity of many to understand (certainly the script writers). So i will simply conclude that thought by remarking that the script lacked proper understanding of the finer points of harmonious phonetics in the english langugage. We have more than one word with the same meaning so sentences can sound good! Also the subject of a sentence can be referenced by implication or by indefinate articles like 'it' - you dont have to repeat it every time. See i used it rather than 'the subject' in the second reference. Genius!

Anyway, i didnt watch the whole episode. But i will touch on the points i raised with sockpuppet.

Firstly. If you cant install a hard disk and cdrom, dont open your case! Take it to a shop or friend and have them do it. If you want to tinker, do so in some old computer, be assured that the innards dont change much. Although one wonders why a newbie would have a computer devoid of a dvd/cdrom and hdd, but with everything else installed.

Second, dont neglect a floppy drive because you will find it impossible to reinstall windows if you have sata (as was displayd in the video). Further if you need to flash your bios you will also be cursing yourself for taking the advice of dorks on the abc.

Third, PC-User is as disinteresting or perhaps even *gasp* more interesting than the GG show. We know PC-User is a pile of rubbish that prints the same diy howtos yearly, backed with pictures of new hardware above stupid graphs making 78fps look 5cm longer than 76fps (and colored in red) making the $500 difference well worth it! Probably the really winning point of PC-User over GG is that you can be nice and give it to a homeless person to use as bedding or insulation. And heck if youre desperate, you can use it as toilet paper!

I will save my thoughts on cybershack for another day.
